Project Goals:

The "Future Factory 2024" course at JAMK embodies a dynamic collaboration between students and external entities, including Combitech and CSC. This student-driven initiative integrates project-based learning and entrepreneurship, aligning with JAMK's mission to nurture innovation and cultivate future IT professionals.

As we embark on this journey, specific project assignments are yet to be unveiled, but the overarching goals are well-defined. This collaborative endeavor aims to combine the expertise and resources of external companies and consultants with the enthusiastic energy of our student teams. Together, we strive to develop innovative solutions, confront complex technical challenges, and drive meaningful advancements in the realm of information technology.

Within this course, students will foster a dynamic, cross-functional team environment that enhances their ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, work collaboratively within teams comprising different skill sets, and efficiently share information within the team and with external partners. This practical experience will also serve as a platform for honing essential skills such as time management while applying the latest technologies and responsible data practices. Ultimately, the project's primary objective is to achieve tangible results that contribute to the broader goals of digitalization and sustainable development, reflecting the commitment of both Combitech and CSC to drive progress and innovation in the IT sector.

For the Team 1 students, this collaborative learning experience extends further, providing them with a unique opportunity to engage with real-world projects and assignments from various external companies and consultants. The coursework encompasses practical insights and challenges, nurturing entrepreneurial spirit, and equipping students with the competencies needed to excel in agile development. As students progress through this course, they will benefit from a diverse range of perspectives, refined communication skills, and the opportunity to contribute to innovative solutions that shape the future of IT. Through these shared endeavors, students, external partners, and educational institutions aim to create a mutually beneficial learning environment that fosters innovation and excellence in the field of information technology.

Combitech

Combitech is a distinguished independent technical consulting company and a vital part of the esteemed defense and security group, Saab AB. CSC

CSC, a non-profit state enterprise, plays a pivotal role in the Finnish national research system by developing, integrating, and delivering high-quality information technology services. As a significant instrument for steering and developing education, science, and culture in Finland, CSC operates with 70% ownership by the Finnish state and 30% ownership by higher education institutions. The enterprise is dedicated to meeting the needs of its primary customers, which include the Ministry of Education and Culture, higher education institutions (universities and universities of applied sciences), research institutes, and public administration. CSC provides its services to these owners without the need for bidding and operates on a non-profit basis, with success measured by the value it generates for its owners.

CSC's mission extends beyond the provision of IT services; it actively contributes to education, research, and cultural policy development in Finland. The organization offers versatile and high-quality training in scientific computing, data management, and information networks, supporting brilliant minds in their pursuit of knowledge. CSC's vision for 2030 is to build world-class research, learning, and innovation environments that harness expertise, networks, and IT capabilities to boost success for both customers and society at large. The enterprise's commitment to sustainability and responsible use of technology aligns with Finland's Green Growth Program and European Union initiatives, ensuring that digitalization and sustainable development lead the way into the future.
